Forged Arch – Arts and Craft Style Entry Table

This table is a custom order for an entry table hand forged out of iron.  The client was inspired by the art deco look and from there we started a design focused on a style, budget and simplicity.  The joints are done in a traditional manner: holes that are slit and drifted, tenons forged at the end of the bars and riveted together, the end of the bars are “upset” where I forge material back into the stock; all with absolutely no welding.

I was asked to focus on a simplistic design revolving around the forged arch detail complemented with an art deco feel, similar to my previous table that can be seen here.  This has a black and lacquer finish.

Below are some pictures of the progress. I draw the table to scale and get approval before I do any forging.  Each piece is hand forged from standard 1″ square stock.

This Arts and Craft Style Entry Table is:

Base: 18.5″ wide x 21.5″ long and 29″ tall.

Glass top: 20″ x 25″

This hand forged entry / hall table is $700.

Custom sizes can be taken upon request.
